Tasker Family Christmas Tree

Tasker Family Christmas Tree

Well, here’s your Christmas present.

Like I said, you’ll either love it or you’ll hate it.  I’m hoping its the former, because I spent entirely too much time setting it up.   I’m hoping its the latter because I’m going to spend entirely too much time tweaking it for you.

Call me when you get a chance and I’ll give you the grand tour.

Cowli & Cali

This is the stuffed animal cow I had gotten Cali from Switzerland. Look at the innocence in her eyes. If she could speak, I think she would say…

…”but this guy, this COW! How could I not tear his limbs from his body, remove the fluff from his carcass? He just tasted so good. It was a nice gift, a nice thought and all, but really? A cow…really??? You couldn’t get me something more fun, more savory to chew? Like a pig’s ear or a rawhide? Atleast those last longer than this silly cow.”

We have season tickets to see USC play football in the fall so every season we get together and either meet up at a restaurant before the game (all dressed up in the school’s cardinal & gold colors) or we prepare to tailgate and make philly cheese steaks and eat way too much dill dip.

It is a really fun time and the weather is usually decent. Here are some pictures of one of the games we went to this season.

This is me and my sister, Brady, at Disney in Orlando a few months ago.

I had not been there for 10 years, when I was 16 and then before that, another 10 years when I was 6! It was fun to get the park hopper pass and go to as many parks as we could fit in before lunch and then dinner. The Magic Kingdom had WAY too many little kids running around, all the girls dressed up like princesses. My 6 year old cousin, Brianna, was princess-for-a-day for her birthday one year. They got her all dolled up with a professional make-over and then she got to wear a gown and have tea with all the Disney princesses. Apparently she was absolutely ecstatic about it.

Here are some more pictures of our trip to Disney…

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CALI!!!

The Cali-monster had her 2nd birthday on November 1st, along with a mini-bday party, but I forgot to post her pictures until now. Ryan and I both bought her a few gifts and she got some from her grandparents in New Hampshire. I made her a double layer vanilla cake with white frosting and sprinkles. Dogs like cake!

This is my Daddy, the Deer-Hunter. He and my younger brother, Kyle, go on this week long hunting trip every year around Thanksgiving time. They drive up north then take a tiny plane to an island off of the Canadian coast that is filled with deer. I told my mom that next year, she should wash his hunting clothes with fragrant detergent (not the suggested non-fragrant kind) to deter the poor creatures on their next hunt.

Lucky Day

Jul 29th, 2008 Posted in Miscellaneous, Pictures | no comment »

I had what I was quick to label a ‘lucky day’ on Friday, July 18th. That Friday, I received a call on my cell phone I had won a raffle that I entered the day before. The item being raffled off was two tickets to see Alanis Morissette in a very unique, private setting that only a select few would get to attend. The event was held by 104.3 My FM, a local radio station I started listening to daily when they started the $10,000-a-day-give-away. I never won $10,000, but I did sign up as a My Club member, which is where I earned points every day and ended up using those points to enter the raffle.

Ryan was my guest at the 104.3 My Stage on Monday, July 21st when Alanis Morissette was interviewed by Billy Bush on camera in front of 10 guests (us included) who watched from leopard print pillows on the floor. The room was small and the stage was less than 3 feet from us. Audio clips from the interview were aired on Billy Bush’s radio show and video clips were supposed to show up on Access Hollywood. I know I got on camera a few times, but have yet to find the episode that shows me and my smiling face.

After the interview and performance, we got group photos with Ms. Morissette and I even got to shake her hand.

Ryan and I saw her in concert on her last tour at the House of Blues in Hollywood. We had a great view of her on stage and had a wonderful time–we always enjoyed her music. Her lyrics are very unique and poetic, one of the main reasons why I like her so much. This next album she is promoting sounds incredible and we are already trying to get tickets to her next stop in Los Angeles at the Orpheum in November.

Back to my lucky day…

I got a free massage that Friday afternoon after work and felt so lucky, that I bought myself a Mega Millions lottery ticket. I kept it simple and just spent $1 on a quick-pick. I felt that I shouldn’t push my luck by picking meaningful numbers. Needless to say, I did not win the $125 million that was in the pot.
