My Dad was feeling sickly the last day they were here for their visit so it’s no surprised that 24 hours later, I stared to feel the sick symptoms as well. It did not hit me until Sunday morning and it was so bad that I had to roll out of bed and drive to the Rite Aid in my pajamas to buy medicine. Ryan was away that weekend so unfortunately I had to take care of myself. Well, I did have Cali giving me kisses every third second, so I had THAT going for me.

The body aches never got that bad, but the stuffy/runny nose, sneezing, coughing and sore throat were the worst! I haven’t been that sick in a long time! I woke up Monday morning in a haze and reluctantly dragged myself to the bathroom to get ready for work. I do not know how I successfully drove myself to the office that day, but I only lasted five hours before my boss was kicking me out the door.

I stumbled into my house, changed into comfortable clothes and collapsed in bed. Cali was surprised and quite pleased to see me home so early. I got up every few hours to load up on meds and water and decided that calling in sick on Tuesday was the best idea I ever had.

Being able to sleep in and nurse myself back to feeling normal was all I focused on and by 3:00pm on Tuesday I was feeling SO much better. I was well enough to take Cali for a walk without getting too winded from the activity. I was even able to drive to the grocery store to pick up dinner and more meds as a back-up in case Ryan got the same cold I did. So far, he hasn’t showed any signs!

Now I am back at work and my boss is moping around the office, complaining that I got him sick–the nerve!
