Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!
That is what the doctor said to me as he was looking at my baby boy with the ultrasound. The technician told me she thought it was a boy, but the doctor would be able to tell me for sure.
The doctor walked in and asked, “Did you find out the gender–boy or girl?”
I replied, “She said it was a boy.”
“Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!” He said as he looked at the computer.
“But I want to know for sure because I need to start buying stuff!”
He chuckled and took about a split second’s look at the ultrasound screen and said, “It is definitely a boy.”
Definitely a boy!? Woohoo!
It is an amazing feeling to go through weeks and weeks of pregnancy thinking you are having a girl. You fantasize about taking her to ballet class, playing dress-up with your clothes and putting on your make-up, dress shopping with her and telling her NO! when she asks for a pony.
And then one day you find out you are having a boy and all those fantasies change. You now see him as your little man, taking him to baseball games and teaching him to play catch, hoping he talks to you about a crush he has on a girl and envisioning that he is not only homecoming king, but the star quarterback in high school. It is a whirlwind of emotions.
When I found out I was pregnant, I was hesitant to be ecstatic, constantly fearing of getting too excited too early. So much can happen during those early months of pregnancy. But now that I have made it to my fourth month and the nausea has subsided, I am overjoyed to know that I am going to have a son. It feels unreal to say that out loud!
It’s a boy!!!! I called it đŸ™‚
