Hating Halloween
I’m hating on Halloween today. I got to work 20 minutes early because Friday morning traffic is always so light here, go figure! Then, I had to wait for 10 minutes for the parking garage elevator to arrive, but after waiting for the 10th minute and still no elevator, I decided to forgo the wait and risk my life on the ramps that the cars use to access different levels of the parking structure.
When I got to the building’s lobby, I was able to jump right on those elevators to get taken up to the 5th floor where I work. But suddenly, I’m bombarded by 6 people, all of which are dressed up for Halloween.
I do not think that anyone should dress up at work. Granted, I did do it once at my old job 4 years ago (I was a rockstar that year) and I made a fool out of myself. I vowed never to do it again.
One of the people in the elevator had a full length body suit on that was a skeleton and they were also wearing a skeleton mask with crazy hair sticking out all over the place. It was a little scary, but mostly I was freaked out to ride the elevator with someone that chose to come to work looking like that.
Tonight, Ryan and I are going to see Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. The first installment of this awesome cult classic was never released in the theatres, instead it went straight to DVD. But it had such a great fan following that about 4-5 years ago, they showed it in select theatres so that everyone could see it on the big screen. We saw it and it was a packed auditorium and everyone was so into it, it was great! I have heard that the sequel is not as good, but we’ll see.
I’m sure the theatre will be covered in Halloween decorations, I just hope the theatre staff isn’t dressed up because we all know how I feel about that!
