3 Days Until Christmas…

I love this song. To see the video CLICK HERE. Below are my favorite lyrics to this song called Breathe (2 AM), by Anna Nalick.
There’s a light at each end of this tunnel, you shout
Cause you’re just as far in as you’ll ever be out
And these mistakes you’ve made, you’ll just make them again
If you only try turning around.
2 AM and I’m still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it’s no longer inside of me,
Threatening the life it belongs to.
And I feel like I’m naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you’ll use them, however you want to.
You can’t jump the track, we’re like cars on a cable
Life’s like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button now
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe… just breathe.
My cousin, Brianna, was my flower girl at my wedding three years ago. When I was 20 she was born and that summer while I was home from college, I took care of her. I loved playing with her while she was a little baby, but it is so much more fun now that she is a walking, talking person. She has her own opinions, laugh and her own spoiled-little-girl-way so that she gets anything she wants from her Daddy (I can sometimes still do the same thing to my Daddy). I do not see her that often, but she is so memorable when I do.
If you like Renee Zellweger, I think you will like her in this new movie:
NEW IN TOWN.
The countdown until Christmas is on! I can not believe this holiday is less than 10 days away from today! Did I tell you I have already shipped all my Christmas gifts back to New Hampshire to my brothers, parents and cousins? All the gifts for my family in California are all wrapped and ready to go as well.
Cowli & Cali
This is the stuffed animal cow I had gotten Cali from Switzerland. Look at the innocence in her eyes. If she could speak, I think she would say…
…”but this guy, this COW! How could I not tear his limbs from his body, remove the fluff from his carcass? He just tasted so good. It was a nice gift, a nice thought and all, but really? A cow…really??? You couldn’t get me something more fun, more savory to chew? Like a pig’s ear or a rawhide? Atleast those last longer than this silly cow.”
Our office’s holiday party is next week and we usually do a gift swap. Last year the spend limit on the anonymous gift was $15. This year, you are not allowed to buy anything, but can bring in something from your home that you are re-gifting, no longer want, use or hate. I think it is a fabulous idea and it should be a lot of fun.
I can not wait to look around my house for something to wrap up and swap out for someone else’s unwanted item. In the end, it is not about what gift you end up with and how wonderful it is…if it was about that, we would exchange names and get something meaningful for the person whose name we picked. Instead it will most likely turn into a laughable event.
Do you do a gift swap at Christmas at your workplace?
I want to take the time to talk about my Grammy. She was very sick for the past few months and passed away this morning at 2:00am. Her & my Grandpa’s 59th wedding anniversary was quickly approaching and it would have been the last day of December. I wonder if she was trying to hold on long enough to wait for that day.
