Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

That is what the doctor said to me as he was looking at my baby boy with the ultrasound. The technician told me she thought it was a boy, but the doctor would be able to tell me for sure.

The doctor walked in and asked, “Did you find out the gender–boy or girl?”

I replied, “She said it was a boy.”

“Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!” He said as he looked at the computer.

“But I want to know for sure because I need to start buying stuff!”

He chuckled and took about a split second’s look at the ultrasound screen and said, “It is definitely a boy.”

Definitely a boy!? Woohoo!

Everyone has an opinion!

In all the baby books I am reading, they give you advice on how to handle people rubbing your belly without asking. I am totally fine with the belly thing. I love being pregnant and I love getting attention. I even love having my belly rubbed. I joke around with my friends and rub their bellies (who are not pregnant) while they rub mine.

The baby books also tell you how to handle friends, family and even strangers throwing their two cents your way. Sometimes I silently scream inside when getting advice that is just ridiculous from someone (whether they know me or not).

Finally Pregnant!

Jan 17th, 2011 Posted in Aidan | no comment »

In mid-October, I peed on two EPT tests and revealed two positive results–PREGNANT!

EPT 10.14.10

It was the most exciting news Ryan and I ever shared together, but he could not contain himself and began calling and texting his parents and friends to share the good news. I was more hesitant to start the celebration until I got a positive result from my OBGYN. It is such a big moment in a woman’s life to miss your period and actually want to be pregnant, especially for someone like me who has wanted a baby for years. But as soon as I got the “Yup, you’re pregnant” news from my doctor I anxiously called my mother and mother-in-law, cousin, grandmother, and future sister-in-law to scream over the phone “I’m gonna have a baby!!!”

On the 1st day of Christmas…

Jan 4th, 2011 Posted in Cali, Miscellaneous | no comment »

…I got a broken refrigerator and a busted connection from our heating unit to our condo.  Fa la la la la – la la la la! Awesome! We knew the house was chilly; warm air (or any air at all for that matter) stopped filling our house on Dec 23. We called the fix-it guy and he came out, pounded on the roof for five minutes and said that the problem was solved. Well, he was WRONG!

Christmas Eve 2010

Dec 27th, 2010 Posted in Miscellaneous | no comment »

Ryan & I shared this Christmas Eve with his parents, his grandmother, his sister and her boyfriend. We met up at Rustico for dinner and had a wonderful meal, but as we do every year, we all passed on dessert. And believe me, it wasn’t because the creme brule wasn’t to die for. Their holiday tradition is to open up Christmas presents on Christmas Eve after dinner. So as you can imagine, we were all pretty anxious to get home, get the family photos over with and changed into pajamas so the unwrapping could begin. Here are some pictures from that night, enjoy!

Can’t get enough!

Dec 16th, 2010 Posted in Miscellaneous | no comment »

I just can’t get enough of fruit these days. Whether it is in the form of a piece of fruit, juice or popscicles, I find my taste buds craving it early in the morning (before I even get out of bed), in the middle of the day, after work and at night. One day after work I had to pick up some apples so I could eat them on my walk with Cali and quench my craving for fruit. It was the oddest thing!

Last week, when I got out of bed to take Cali to the bathroom before I got ready for work, I had to take 3-5 chugs of juice from the bottle. I love how the sweet juices swirl in my mouth, it is the best taste in the world! Well, right now anyway.
